Roland Winkler as a composer PDF Print E-mail

Already during his years of study Roland Winkler earned an additional income as a drum teacher (back then at the Musikschule Ybbsfeld). There he also established his first school bands and percussion ensembles, for wich he had already composed goal-oriented. During all of these years as drum and percussion teacher (today at the Regionalmusikschule Amstetten and at the Musikhauptschule Blindenmarkt) he hasn't given up this hobby.

That's how a small "mountain" of drum and percussion songs were generated, wich were all used at the respective class concerts. You can find nearly everything from drum solos to ensemble pieces of 4 to 20 musicians. There are also rhytmic pieces for orchestras, with "instruments" made out of paper or watering cans, in the selection.

In 2003 Roland Winkler composed "Trommelix - School for snare drum", which enjoys a great popularity.

Since 2004 the group "Drum-El-Stettner" has been in a set-up period. The compositions for this formation were and are still musical challenges.

The "Three Body Moves" is the newest development, intended for 3 to 5 graders.

Many of these compositions were published at the renowed music publisher Carpe-Diem.

You can find several samples here:
